Lucas Oil MLRA
Rained out-- CJ Speedway Falls To Mother Nature
Heavy rainfall on Thursday morning has brought an early halt to the opening leg of the Lucas Oil MLRA’s weekend of action. Heavy rainfall on Thursday morning at the CJ Speedway has left the facility very wet for Friday night’s planned $5,000 to win main event, forcing the events cancellation.
Track and MLRA officials wanted to make the early call to save teams on travel expenses with the high likelihood of even more rain and potential for storms hitting the area on Friday morning and again on Friday evening.
The CJ Speedway event will not be made up in 2023, but track and series officials are already working on a return date for the Lucas Oil MLRA in 2024.
The MLRA will now move its focus to the 1st Annual "Firecracker 40" this Saturday July 1st at the I-70 Motorsports Park in Odessa, MO. The weekend will wrap up on Sunday night July 2nd when the MLRA returns to the Adams County, IL Speedway in Quincy, IL for the first time since 2019. Both of these events will pay $7,000 to win.
