Jeremy Conaway
11th-place finish in MLRA opener at Maquoketa
Thursday night found Jeremy Conaway in action at Maquoketa Speedway (Maquoketa, Iowa) to lift the lid on an action-packed weekend with the Lucas Oil Midwest Late Model Racing Association (MLRA). After a late arrival to the facility prevented him from competing in qualifying and heat races, Conaway charged from the 17th-starting position in the 40-lap feature to finish 11th. The following night at Mississippi Thunder Speedway (Fountain City, Wis.) for the River City Rumble, Conaway failed to make a lap in his heat race before pulling off early in his B-Main. Earning a provisional into the $10,000-to-win A-Main, Jeremy was an early retiree on lap 21.
For the weekend finale on Saturday at Deer Creek Speedway (Spring Valley, Minn.), Jeremy posted an eighth-place finish in his heat, which positioned him 22nd on the starting grid for the finale. With $5,000 on the line, Conaway passed four cars in the 40-lapper to finish 18th.
On Sunday, Conaway detoured to East Moline Speedway (East Moline, Ill.) to pilot the Mike Guldenpfennig-owned No. 91 IMCA Late Model. Earning the 10th-starting position for the A-Main via preliminary event, Jeremy dropped one spot to place 11th.
