Sunoco Racing fueling 2019 MLRA Rookie Award program

By MLRA PR (Wheatland, MO) -- Lucas Oil MLRA series officials are pleased to announce the return of the Sunoco Race Fuels "Rookie of the Year" Award Program for 2019. Drivers will compete at each MLRA sanctioned event for Rookie of the Race honors, leading up the crowning of the series Sunoco Race Fuels Rookie of the Year, which will be awarded at the conclusion of the season.

"Sunoco Race Fuels has been a great partner with the Lucas Oil MLRA for many years and we are glad to again be able to offer this valuable contingency program to our series up and coming stars," said MLRA Series Director Ernie Leftwich. The 2019 series Rookie of the Year will score a $2,500 bonus check from Sunoco Race Fuels along with (6) barrels of race fuel.

Payton Looney piloted his Atnip Motorsports entry to the top of the 2018 Sunoco Race Fuels Rookie battle, while Waukesha, WI native Mitch McGrath came home in the runner-up position. Other recent MLRA drivers who have finished atop the rookie podium include Rodney Sanders, Tad Pospisil, and R.C. Whitwell.

The Lucas Oil MLRA will embark on their 31st season of action at the Lucas Oil Speedway on April 12th & 13th for the 6th annual running of the RacingJunk.com Spring Nationals. A total of 30 events currently awaits series drivers in 2019, comprised of many traditional MLRA fan favorite venues as well as multiple first time facilities that will leave fans on the edge of their seats with exciting super late model action.
