Wyman preparing for 2017 assault on MLRA Tour

By Trenton Berry, Lucas Oil MLRA PR (Wheatland, MO) -- Full speed ahead is the best way to describe the racing plans for Griswold, Iowa's JC Wyman. Having completed his second full year with the Lucas Oil MLRA in 2016, Wyman is preparing another assault on the tour which brings together many of the top drivers in the Midwest.

"I really enjoy running with the Lucas Oil MLRA," commented Wyman. "All the people that make it up are terrific. The staff, other drivers and crew are really special. It takes a lot of time and money to run the entire schedule, but there is no other tour I'd rather follow."

The team will have the services of a brand new Black Diamond Chassis when the season begins at I-80 Speedway. Also in the arsenal is a pair of fresh engines. They plan to race a lot in the coming season, so they will also have a steel motor in their original Black Diamond to run shows closer to home.

"I want to run a minimum of 50 times this season," Wyman elaborated. "We are keeping our old car so we can run the Malvern Bank (formerly SLMR) Late Model Series every chance we get."

Looking back to 2016, Wyman had a really memorable moment. Friday, September 2, they unloaded at Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kansas, for what was the first of their three stop racing weekend. In the main event, Wyman took control early and blasted through lapped traffic on the way to his first ever win in Lucas Oil MLRA action.

"To me looking back it was kind of like a fluke win," stated Wyman. "This year I really want to back it up and get another win or two, so I can prove to myself it wasn't. I heard from others how big it was to win with the Lucas Oil MLRA, and as much as we have ran with the tour we know how special it is. What I remember the most is how cool it was for so many drivers, who I race against, to congratulate me after that race. It was really special and unexpected. I appreciated all of them taking a minute to do that."

Wyman certainly used the good run in Kansas City for a shot of late season momentum. Over the final four series races, he had two top-fives and three top-10's.

Like most teams and competitors, Wyman is always looking for additional sponsorship help, and is grateful for those on the team including; Clean Car Center, JD Wyman Motorsports, Wyman Body Works, Malvern Bank, Sorenson Equipment, KWF LLC and Element 102 Graphics.

The first weekend of racing for the Lucas Oil MLRA is just under two months away. It will again originate from the Kosiski family's I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Nebraska, March 31 and April 1. The Spring Meltdown will pay $2,000 and $3,000 to win respectively.
